Trademark Registration Term at INPI (Brazil's National Industrial Property Institute)

A trademark registration granted by the INPI (Instituto Nacional da Propriedade Industrial, Brazil's federal trademark and patent office) is valid for ten years, counted from the date of grant.

The trademark owner may renew the registration indefinitely, for successive equal terms of ten years.

The renewal application must be filed within the last year of the current term; failure to do so within that window subjects the applicant to payment of an additional fee (retribuição adicional).
