Although the new NR-1 regulation will only take effect on May 26, 2026, companies should not wait to act. The revised rule requires all businesses to assess and manage psychosocial risks in the workplace, such as chronic stress, harassment, excessive workload, and toxic work environments.

The year 2025 will serve as an educational phase, which is the perfect time to implement internal policies, update employee handbooks, conduct leadership training, and build a healthier workplace culture. Waiting until 2026 may lead to rushed actions, compliance failures, and potential legal issues.

Legal and HR teams should work together from now on to map psychosocial risks and create effective prevention strategies. This includes internal assessments, awareness workshops, leadership training, and secure communication channels. Legal support is crucial to ensure full compliance and reduce the risk of labor disputes.

Investing in mental health is not just about complying with the law. It strengthens team performance, boosts employee retention, enhances organizational climate, and protects your company’s reputation. Acting early will bring both legal safety and strategic advantages.
